Hoodoos and Goblins Goblin Valley State Park lies at the edge of the vast San Rafael Desert in Utah, far from any town of significance. But it is worth the ride. The valley is about a mile across and two miles long, and is formed by seasonal floods. It contains thousands of mushroom-shaped pinnacles (hoodoos) a few feet high that seem to resemble goblins.
